Stockholm, 17th of June, 2011; The Administrative Court of Appeal in Gothenburg has overruled an appeal regarding a procurement for pharmaceutical production for the regions of Västra Götaland and Halland. APL can thereby sign a contract with the regions for the production of extemporaneous drugs, including cytostatic medication.
The appeal was petitioned by one of the bidders, Apoteket Farmaci. The administrative court overruled the appeal citing that the procurement process was in accordance with the law. This means that the contract between APL and the two regions can now be signed and APL can proceed with producing extemporaneous pharmaceuticals for 21 hospitals in the regions.
“APL was not party to the court case, but we are of course pleased with the outcome”, says Michael Brobjer, Marketing Director, APL. “The services required in the request for tender, pharmaceutical production, are of utmost importance to the inhabitants of the regions and we are pleased to have gained clarity in the matter. It is fundamental that procurements follow the stipulated process and that the patients’ needs are not neglected.
