Eva Sjökvist Saers

Born 1962. MSc in Pharmacy, PhD.
Eva Sjökvist Saers has been the head of APL since 2003. Eva previously headed Apoteket's dosage operation and was part of the corporate management team of Apoteket AB. For several years, Eva held various management positions within Research and Development, focusing on pharmaceutical product development within Astra Pain Control and AstraZeneca. Eva was also global project manager for strategic projects within AstraZeneca. Eva is chairman of the Swedish Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences and a member of the board of Karolinska Institutet Holding AB, SwedenBIO and Dilafor AB.
Pia Åkerström
CFO
Finance/ IT
Born 1953. BSc in Economics. Joined APL in 1998 as CFO, since 2008 head of Finance and IT. Before Pia Åkerström joined APL, she worked as an auditor for Öhrlings PriceWaterhouseCoopers, and as Divisional Controller with WMI Sellbergs. Pia has also held CFO positions within a number of other industries.

Michael Brobjer
Director Marketing & Business development
Born 1960. Chartered Chemical Engineer. Joined APL in 2009 as head of Marketing and Business Development. Before joining APL, Michael Brobjer worked for Biovitrum, where he held positions within Strategic Sourcing, Business Development and Contract Sales. Michael also has long experience from pharmaceuticals development within the former Pharmacia Group, both as manager and as project leader.
Åsa Falk
Director Sourcing and Supply Chain
Born 1968. Holds a master’s degree in industrial economics. Joined APL in 2011 from Ericsson AB, where she had held senior positions in Strategic and Operational Purchasing, Supply Chain Development, Quality and R&D Operational Development. Åsa has more than 10 years of experience of purchasing and supply chain management in the telecom industry.
Anna-Lena Lindström
Director Pharmaceutics/Central Laboratory
Product range, contacts with authorities and pharmaceuticals development.
Born 1951. MSc in Chemistry, Pharmacist. Anna-Lena Lindström joined APL in 1999, most recently from Pharmacia & Upjohn Nutrition, where she was Manager Pharmaceutical Technology and later Deputy Director R&D, Pharmaceutical Development. Anna-Lena has worked within R&D in the pharmaceuticals industry for nearly 20 years, and has held a number of managerial positions and worked as project manager for development projects within Kabi Pharmacia and ACO Läkemedel.
Kia Frenssen
Director Special Pharmaceuticals
Born 1965. Pharmacist. Kia Frenssen comes from AstraZeneca, where she has held a number of senior positions in manufacturing and quality, both as line manager and in senior global roles.
Kia has gained many years of experience of pharmaceutical manufacturing, quality assurance and lean production through the positions she has held.

Lars Granlund
Director Non Sterile Products

Born 1955. Engineer. Lars Granlund joined APL in 2003. Before this, he worked for Bioglan AB, where he was Manager Technical Operations. He has previously held a number of managerial positions, within Leo, Pharmacia, Ferring and others. In his positions within these companies, Lars has acquired more than 30 years' experience of production within the pharmaceutical industry.
Jan Fernlund
Director Sterile Products / Capsules
Site manager APL Umeå and APL Stockholm
Born 1953, Chartered Chemical Engineer. Jan Fernlund joined APL in 2002. Before this, he held managerial positions in companies within the food and brewery industries. Jan was a senior manager at within production at Marabou, Spendrups and other well-established companies within the food sector.
Maria Gard
Director Quality Assurance
Born 1957. MSc in Pharmacy, Marketing Economist. Maria Gard joined APL in 2003 from a position within Quality Staff at Apoteket AB, and before that from AstraZeneca. Maria had previously held positions as Development Manager, Product Manager, Project Manager and Clinical Assessor, which have provided broad experience of the pharmaceuticals industry. Maria recently worked as a national expert within the European Medicines Agency EMEA in London.
Zeljko Tucak
Director Environmental Affairs
Born 1967. Chemical Engineer. Zeljko Tucak joined APL in 1990, and since 2000 has held a number of leading positions within the environmental area in Apoteket AB. He has wide experience of managing projects and building management systems within environment, health and safety. Zeljko is active within a number of networks concerned with current issues within the environmental area.
Roland Juslin
Director Human Resources
Born in 1944. Holds a master’s degree in law and is a human resources specialist. Has worked as a consultant with his own company since 2007. Previously employed by Apoteket AB, where he had been head of negotiations, labour law specialist and HR manager for a profit centre. During his years as a consultant, Roland has worked for the Red Cross University College and the Red Cross Hospital and has taught entrepreneurs on labour law.
