Today, it’s obvious that businesses that take responsibility for sustainable development must also take responsibility from a broader perspective. APL works on integrating taking social responsibility with the supplier chain.
APL kommer will work for suppliers collaborating in accordance with the requirements and guidelines in the code of conduct. Follow-up is done through self-evaluation documents and, in certain cases, inspections of the suppliers.
The code of conduct is designed to minimize the risks within the social sphere and is based on ten principles in accordance with basic UN declarations (human rights, workers’ rights, the environment, and corruption). APL’s ambition is to indicate we are taking responsibility with a sustainable business development.

Update
APL has joined a CSR-network that is engaged in the development of our society. This CSR-network supplements our other networks in the field of sustainability. The network is a forum where experience and knowledge can be exchanged, and is also a tool for our organisation’s CSR work.
At the seminar CSRSyd 2011, APL accounted for how the company uses a clearly outlined work process to work with suppliers over the long term. The model (visualization) of this working method was appreciated, and is based on our newly developed management instructions on how to assess suppliers by means of a code of conduct and self-evaluation forms for suppliers, among other things.
